This package has been designed to provide a trainer with the information to run a workshop on how to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries in the workplace.

It is envisaged that participants for the workshop would be leading hands, supervisors, managers, or others who will have responsibility for implementing the Manual Handling Code of Practice.
The package consists of the following components.
This component includes an overall plan for the workshop, and the presenter's workshop guide. It provides the background information for running the workshop.
This component consists of principles of adult learning and hints for presenting a workshop. This section has been designed for new presenters or trainers.
Component 3 is a summary of the workshop guide in Component 1. It is designed to be used by the trainer during the workshop. It is set out in easy-to-read format, providing reminders and pointers to assist in the presentation of the information. Masters for the overhead transparencies and other materials for use in the workshop are found in Component 5 of this package.
This component consists of the trainees' notes. They should be photocopied and given out to each participant at the end of the workshop.
Component 5 contains the resources to be used by the trainer in presenting the workshop. It includes all checklists and worksheets for the participants to use during the workshop, as well as masters for all overhead transparencies.
This component consists of a glossary of the terms used in the package, and the references sourced in putting this package together.
