  • The employer, having employees with occupational exposure, shall establish a written Exposure Control Plan designeD to minimize or eliminate employee exposure.
  • (c)(1)(i)
  • The written plan shall contain at least the following elements:
  • (c)(1)(ii)
  • Exposure determination:
  • (c)(1)(ii)(A)
      List of job classifications in which all employees have occupational exposure;
    (c)(2)(i)(A)
      List of job classifications in which some employees have occupational exposure; and
    (c)(2)(i)(B)
      List of tasks & procedures in which occupational exposure occurs and that are performed by the listed employees.
    (c)(2)(i)(C)
  • This exposure determination shall be made without regard to the use of personal protective equipment:
  • (c)(2)(ii)
  • Schedule & Method of Implementation:
  • (c)(1)(ii)(B)
      Methods of Compliance-Universal Precautions;
    (d)(1)
      Engineering and work practice controls;
    (d)(2)(i)
      Personal protective equipment;
    (d)(3)(i)
      Housekeeping;
    (d)(4)(i)
      HIV & HBV Research Laboratories & Production facilities;
    (e)
      Hepatitis B Vaccination & Post-Exposure Evaluation & Follow-Up;
    (f)
      Communication of Hazards to Employees; and
    (g)
      Recordkeeping of this standard.
    (h)
  • Procedures for the evaluation of circumstances surrounding exposure incidents.
  • (c)(1)(ii)(C)
  • A copy of the plan shall be accessible to all employees.
  • (c)(1)(iii)
  • The Exposure Control Plan shall be reviewed and updated at least annually or when necessary to reflect new or modified tasks & procedures or to reflect new or revised employee positions with occupational exposure.
